RILEY

I am pleased to introduce Riley, a second year student in the Advanced Medicine program at the Livonia Career Technical Center.  Riley is an extraordinary young woman who is helpful, hard working, mature, and radiates a positive attitude that inspires those around her.

Riley participated this year in the Health Occupations Students of America CPR/First Aid event.  She was a regional finalist in her event and will compete at the HOSA State competition in Grand Rapids in March.  Riley has identified Nursing as her intended profession and is utilizing her HOSA event as an opportunity to gain more skills and experience related to that role as a step on her way to a career as a Registered Nurse in the ER. Riley was also able to secure an experience at St. Mary Mercy Hospital where she shadowed an Emergency Room Physician.  It is impressive for Riley to be so intent on her career path; her display of an incredible work ethic and mindfulness of her future are to be commended.

Riley is very self-directed, and sets the standard for other students. She is compassionate and helpful.  She is always willing to step up and assist someone who is experiencing difficulty.  Riley possesses the intellectual capability, emotional maturity, and the drive to be very successful in the medical profession. Miss Trainor will be an asset to the medical field and an excellent patient advocate.  She is intelligent, compassionate, creative, determined, an excellent problem solver, and always a team player.

Riley has been admitted to Schoolcraft College for Fall 2018, where she plans to work on her pre-requisites for nursing.  She plans to transfer to Wayne State University to continue her undergraduate degree. I am confident that Riley will continue her exemplary performance in her undergraduate studies and in all of her future endeavors.  She is most deserving of the Livonia Youth Rotary Vocational Award.
